Doopliss's theme is probably my favorite boss theme in the game. It's interesting to have heard it in the remake first- it's still got all the same sweet bits, it's just a bit more banger with the new instrumentation. The remake in general does a lot of interesting things- I think they knew people would complain no matter how good they did, and there would inevitably be something lost when translating the music into a new style, so they filled that in with something *new*. Themes for the different sublevels of each area, new battle themes for each chapter, *progressive music for the Thousand-Year Door's room*, it's hard not to appreciate the effort they put in. While I can see people liking the original theme better without progression, the new one is outright angelic by the end!

It feels like that 'fifth' sound is so predominant with japanese composers. The opening chords are so reminiscent of Hisaishi for example.

Wow this video really made me appreciate the game's music way more. The work that the bass is doing is something I've never noticed before and yet...

And *then* there’s Volo’s battle theme makes Cynthia’s theme sounds like just a tutorial of how to handle the terror. 😊

One of my favorite things about the Pursuit themes in the Great Ace Attorney games is that you have the Pursuit theme that was played in the video.... until the very last case in the second game, which is the culmination of the entire story across both games. There, the familiar Pursuit theme is suddenly reworked into a slightly more subdued but much more tension evoking version, less a Pursuit theme and more a pre-pursuit theme, before finally breaking loose into a new, different, even grander Pursuit theme that caps the entire story. It's beautiful.

Maybe a little more than 8bit but I'm pretty sure the crash bandicoot title music is mixolydian.

I feel like something similar to 2:57 is happening at the end of the intro for Yunobo's Theme, in TOTK, before it goes ham.

When someone tells me BOTW/TOTK don't have soundtracks, or that there are only two "songs", I ROFLMAO. They're my favorite of the bunch, with OOT right there. The various champion themes, and the region themes related to them, are no small part why.

All jokes aside, the Champion themes in each game have always been STELLAR pieces of music. I am still blown away at how menacing & epic they managed to make them sound on GameBoy hardware. Seriously. If you dont remember, go have a listen to the original Blue champion theme, or the Pkmn Trainer RED battle theme. What they managed to convey with such a limited soundscape blew my mind as a kid & still blows my mind today.
